How to Get a Psychology Referral

1. Make a GP Appointment

You can make an appointment with your usual GP, any local one, or one of the below online GP services.

Tell the clinic you would like:

A Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP)

This allows Medicare rebates for up to 10 psychology sessions per calendar year, which just means Medicare covers part of your bill.

During the appointment, the GP will ask about how you’ve been going.
If appropriate, they will prepare:
• a Mental Health Treatment Plan
• a referral to a psychologist

You can ask for Seen Psychology to be listed on the referral, or leave it open. Seen details are below:

  • Sierra Bernard, Registered Psychologist OR Ashryn Poole, Clinical Psychologist

  • Seen Psychology Services

  • Merewether Wellness Centre, 224 Union Street, 2291, NSW
